How to help

Volunteer & Foster

The safety net is made of people. Wherever you live in the U.S., there’s a way to lend a hand.

Ways to Volunteer

Foster homes

Open your barn to a horse in transition. Fosters give horses a calm place to settle while we find the right adopter.

Horse care

Help with feeding, grooming, turnout, and barn chores. No experience required for many tasks; we’ll train you.

Transport

Have a truck and trailer? Help us move horses safely to foster homes, vets, and adopters.

Trainers & riders

Experienced Icelandic horse riders and trainers help evaluate gaits and prepare horses for new homes.

Professional skills

Veterinarians, farriers, bodyworkers, photographers, and accountants all make a big difference.

Events & outreach

Help at events, represent us at shows and clinics, or spread the word in your local Icelandic horse club.

Volunteer Interest Form

Tell us a little about yourself and we’ll reach out about opportunities near you.
